The FZ-S Fi Hybrid from India Yamaha Motor (IYM) went on sale on Monday for Rs 1,44,800 (ex-showroom). In comparison to the non-hybrid FZ-S Fi, Yamaha’s first hybrid motorcycle in India commands a premium of Rs 10,000. A 149-cc Blue Core engine that is now OBD-2B compliant powers the FZ-S Fi. The Stop & Start System (SSS) and Smart Motor Generator (SMG) from Yamaha are included in the engine.
By automatically shutting off the engine at idle and restarting with a quick clutch action, these technologies provide quieter starts, battery-assisted acceleration, and improved fuel efficiency. The claimed fuel efficiency has not yet been mentioned by the company. The design is mostly the same, but one important change is that the integrated front turn signals are now in the air intake area. A 4.2-inch full-color TFT instrument cluster that works with smartphones via the Y-Connect app is new to the FZ-S Fi Hybrid. Turn-by-Turn (TBT) navigation that is connected to Google Maps provides real-time directions, a navigation index, information about intersections, and road names. According to Yamaha, the handlebar position has been optimized for improved comfort during extended rides. The switches on the handlebar have been adjusted for better accessibility. The horn switch has been moved to make it more comfortable and simple to use. The fuel cap on the tank now resembles one on an airplane and stays on during refueling. Cyan Metallic Grey and Racing Blue are the two colors available for the brand-new 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid. “By introducing hybrid technology in this segment, we are not only elevating performance but also reinforcing our commitment to bringing advanced, rider-focused innovations,” stated Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group. Customer feedback has shaped each FZ series update, resulting in a more refined, dynamic, and engaging ride.
