Colleges and universities ready to transform their campuses’ approaches to providing global education should apply now for the 14th cohort of ACE’sInternationalization Laboratory.
Institutions that join the Lab will build leadership teams to develop strategic plans that will focus campus attention on internationalization, with the goal of long-lasting institutional change.
“Our team has learned so much during the Internationalization Laboratory process, both through the materials that we gathered from ACE and through the deeper knowledge we have gained about our own terrain in terms of internationalization,” said Mark Heckler, president of Valparaiso University (IN). “The Strategic Plan for Internationalization is the first such plan for our institution, and thus a document of practical as well as historical importance. Your process has allowed us to achieve greater maturation and cohesiveness in our thinking. Now we turn our ideas into action.”
Cohort participants will begin 20 months of work in August 2016, including:
- A site visit by ACE staff, involving a roundtable discussion with the on-campus internationalization leadership team and key stakeholders to clarify goals and build support for the internationalization process, a peer review visit and report at the end of the process
- Three meetings of the entire 2016-18 cohort, hosted by ACE in Washington, DC
- Individualized guidance, insight and feedback from ACE staff
Interested campuses should apply soon as space is limited. For more information, contact Barbara Hill, senior associate in ACE’s Center for Internationalization and Global Engagement, at [email protected].
